The Xugana Island Lodge is located in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta within a forest of wild ebony and garcinia trees. "Xugana" means "kneel down to drink". Xugana Lagoon has, for thousands of years, been a safe haven for the Bushman people who hunted these pristine waters. Accommodation is in raised reed and thatch "Mesasas", each with a view on the lagoon. On Mokoro trips in traditional dug out canoes poled by local boatmen, motor boat trips and wilderness walks on nearby islands the abundant wild life may be observed.
