Etosha und Kaokoveld (9 days)
from / to Windhoek

Day 1:
We collect you from your accommodation and depart from Windhoek at 8.00am. Short stop at Otjiwarongo for fresh produce and proceed to Okaukeujo for lunch. We game drive to our camp and search for many species of animals including elephant, lion, rhino, gemsbok, kudu, zebra and more. Dinner prepared by guide with group assistance. Night time viewing at flood lit waterhole.

Day 2:
Sunrise departure after breakfast and transit across the park visiting various waterholes en-route. We’ll arrive at Namutoni for lunch and then leave the park heading towards Ovamboland. We arrive at our camp in Ovamboland late afternoon and pitch camp. Traditional dinner prepared by local villagers. Evening spent around the campfire.

Day 3:
After breakfast we will tour the museum and traditional homestead. We stop at some cuca shops for drinks and a chat with the locals before proceeding to our camp on the Kunene River and pitch camp. Optional sunset boat cruise (when available). Dinner prepared by guide with group assistance. Evening spent around campfire.

Day 4:
F
ull day to enjoy the many optional activities here such as bird watching, boat trips, quad biking and river rafting. Overnight camping.

Day 5:
We will meet many Himba today as they tend their cattle and goats. Arrive at Epupa Falls late afternoon and pitch camp. View the falls at sunset. Dinner prepared by the guide with group assistance. Evening spent around campfire.

Day 6:
Day of leisure at Epupa Falls to meet the locals and to explore the river on foot or spend time birding or trying to spot some crocodiles. Dinner prepared by the guide with group assistance. Evening spent around campfire.

Day 7:
Early departure after breakfast for a long drive to Ongongo Falls via Opuwo and Sesfontein. We will stop at Opuwo, the regional centre of Kaokoland where we re-supply our fresh goods and then drive onto Ongongo Waterfall, a thermal spring where we will set up camp and have a refreshing swim. Dinner prepared by guide with group assistance. Evening spent around campfire.

Day 8:
Departure after breakfast driving south through Damaraland looking for species of animals such as giraffe, gemsbok, springbok, mountain zebra and elephant. We arrive at camp for lunch and set up on the banks of the Aba Huab River, this afternoon we will explore the engravings at Twyfelfontein. We then drive to the Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes before returning to camp. Dinner prepared by guide with group assistance.

Day 9:
Departure after breakfast for drive back to Windhoek visiting the Petrified Forest and the famous Vingerklip or “Finger of God” en-route, an amazing rock structure. We will have a roadside lunch and then visit the Okahandja craft market for those last minute curios and watch some of the craftsmen at work carving various wood sculptures. We arrive back in Windhoek late in the afternoon to enjoy a safari drink and share the memories of your safari. (breakfast / lunch)
